Navigating Learning Zone

Navigation Bar

At the top of each page in Learning Zone, you will find the Navigation Bar. The Navigation Bar provides access across Learning Zone, provides search functionality and allows you to access your account.

  1. These links will allow you to navigate to the other pages available in Learning Zone.

  2. The search bar allows you to search for content, so you can find exactly what you are looking for.

  3. The account drop-down allows you to access your account details, help, and allows you to log out.

Dashboard

At the top of the Dashboard page, you will find a list of your most recent activities, allowing you to quickly and easily navigate to them by clicking on them.

Scrolling down the Dashboard page will take you to a list of activities that have been recommended for you to complete based on previous activities and what is currently trending. The activities are separated by different criteria, i.e. cloud activities or Microsoft activities. You can view more of each type of activity by clicking the View more ____ activities button and navigating to the Results page.

About Learning Zone page

To access the About Learning Zone page, first you must click Learning Zone in the Navigation bar to open a drop down list. Then select About Learning Zone.

The About Learning Zone page provides information about the features provided within Learning Zone. This is a good place to learn more about what Learning Zone is, and what it offers - such as Hands-on Labs.

  1. The Register with Learning Zone button will take you to the Pricing page, allowing you to register for a subscription.

  2. The Browse button takes you to the Results page, allowing you to see the content and activities on offer.

Pricing page

To access the Pricing page, first you must click Learning Zone in the Navigation bar to open a drop down list. Then select Pricing.

The Pricing page details what features are available to you with a Learning Zone subscription.

At the top of the Pricing page, there is an option to Register for a Learning Zone subscription. Selecting the Register button will take you to the Account Creation page.

Digital badges page

To access the Digital badges page, first you must click Learning Zone in the Navigation bar to open a drop down list. Then select Digital badges.

The Digital badges page provides details of the digital badges we have to available, all can be earnt through Credly and information regarding earning digital badges that you can display online.

Explore drop down

To access the Explore drop down, first click Explore in the Navigation bar to open a menu.

At the top of the menu, there are a set of options to choose from such as Disciplines and Microsoft. Selecting one of these items will change the menu to display the selected item.

Selecting one of the available options will then take you to the Results page, filtered specifically for the selected content, i.e. only Microsoft Azure activities. You can also select for specific types of activity, for example Hands-on Labs.

On the Results page, you will be greeted with a list of activities matching your search criteria, and additional criteria that you can add on the left-hand side of the page.

  1. The Filters section of the page shows you which filters have been applied to your search.

  2. The Activity type, Skill level, Vendor and Discipline sections allow you to define additional filters to your search, for example allowing you to search for only Microsoft Hands-on Labs, or activities within the fundamental skill level.

  3. The page navigation allows you to navigate through the list of activities that is separated onto multiple pages.

  4. The list of activities allows you to view and select which activity you would like to complete.

The Results page is comprised of multiple tiles. Each tile represents an activity. Within the tile, a lot of information is available to you.

  1. The icon displayed within the tile indicates the Discipline of the activity. For example, is the lab cloud, operations, programming etc.

  2. The title of the activity is displayed.

  3. The ellipsis icon is clickable. Clicking this icon brings up a brief synopsis of the activity that you can read. You can then select the View button to read in further detail.

  4. Underneath the title is more information about the activity, telling you the activity type, the skill level, and an estimate of how long the activity will take you.

  5. At the bottom of the tile, you are given information regarding the vendor – i.e. AWS, Microsoft etc.

    You can click anywhere within the tile to open the activity.

Overview page

Once you have selected an activity, the page contains more in-depth and further information about the activity.

  1. On the right-hand side of the page, you will see an overview of the activity

  2. At the bottom of the page you will see related tags

  3. On the left-hand side of the page, you will see the Launch button

Your learning

Selecting the Your Learning item in the Navigation bar will bring up a menu containing a summary of how many activities you have completed and how many hours of material you have covered. You will also see a list of your learning activity.
